Why do I need to verify my email address?

Email verification helps confirm that the account really belongs to you and reduces problems with mistyped addresses, duplicate signups, and account recovery later on. It also makes it easier for FlightLeague to deliver important account messages correctly. This applies whether you use Pilot mode or Traveler mode, because verification is tied to the account itself rather than a specific logging experience. If you signed up with email and password, you should expect a verification step before everything is fully settled. If you used Apple or Google sign-in, the flow may feel shorter because those providers already confirm more of your identity. If the message does not appear, check junk folders and make sure you used the right email.

Can I sign in with Google or Apple instead of a password?

Yes, FlightLeague supports Google sign-in and Apple sign-in in addition to standard email and password accounts. Many users prefer these options because they are faster and reduce the need to remember another password. The exact buttons you see may depend on your device and platform, but the account experience after login is still the same. Your chosen sign-in method does not change whether you use Pilot mode or Traveler mode, and it does not affect your logged data or profile setup. If a social sign-in option seems to open and then return you to the app, that is usually part of the normal callback process rather than an error.

What should I do if I forget my password?

If you signed up with email and password, use the password reset option on the login screen and follow the recovery email you receive. Make sure you open the newest reset message, because older links can become outdated. Once you set a new password, you should be able to return to the app and continue normally. This affects account access only and does not change your pilot logs, traveler trips, profile, or social connections. If you originally used Apple or Google sign-in, you may not need a password reset at all because access is managed through that provider. In that case, the best step is usually to sign in again using the same method you used when creating the account.

Can I sign out of FlightLeague whenever I want?

Yes. You can sign out from your account controls whenever you no longer want the app to stay active on that device. Signing out does not remove your pilot logs, traveler trips, profile, or connections. It simply ends the current session and sends you back through login the next time you need access. This is helpful if you are switching devices, troubleshooting account behaviour, or just prefer tighter control over access. If you sign back in with the same account, your content should return as normal. If anything looks missing after signing back in, the first thing to check is whether you used the same sign-in method and the same account email as before.

How do I permanently delete my account?

FlightLeague includes a permanent account deletion option in account controls. Use it only if you are sure, because account deletion is intended to remove your access and the account tied to your pilot or traveler history. Before deleting, it is wise to export any data you may want to keep, especially if you use Pilot mode for ongoing logging. If you only want to stop using the app temporarily, signing out is usually a better option. Deletion is meant to be final rather than a pause. If you are blocked by a login issue and cannot reach the setting, contact support from the email linked to the account so the team can guide you through the safest next step.

What does pending verification or pending auth mean?

Pending verification or pending auth usually means FlightLeague recognises that you started signup, but one final confirmation step has not fully completed yet. This can happen if the verification email is still waiting to be opened, the app has not finished processing a callback, or the account state has not refreshed after sign-in. It is generally a temporary status rather than a sign that your account is broken. In most cases, opening the latest verification email, returning to the app, and waiting a moment solves it. The app uses this state to keep signup smoother instead of forcing you to start from scratch. If the message stays too long, try refreshing or using a new verification link.

How does FlightLeague protect my account and profile data?

FlightLeague treats account access, identity details, and logged activity as personal data, so protection starts with verification, secure sign-in options, and profile-level privacy controls. You can also manage what becomes public by choosing public or private visibility where relevant, which is especially important for social activity and logged routes. Pilot and Traveler mode both use the same account foundation, so the security principles are the same whichever mode you choose. Good account hygiene still matters on your side too: use the correct sign-in method, keep your email secure, and review visibility settings carefully. If something looks unusual, signing out and back in can often help confirm whether it is a sync issue or a genuine account concern.
